Do you love chocolate? Do you especially love chocolate that comes in fun shapes like Easter bunnies and Christmas trees?
If so, I am happy to report that Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter and Halloween are all coming early this year.
Nestled just outside of Pigeon Forge and close to Interstate-40, you’ll find a Russell Stover Candies outlet. It is one of only 31 retail locations in the whole country, so be sure to take advantage and pop in on your way through.
In fact, stopping by Russell Stover’s and stocking up on my favorite holiday chocolates is one of the best traditions after a day at Dollywood. (After all, you did just burn off plenty of calories by walking around all day, right?)
Russell Stover is about more than just holiday chocolates though. As soon as you walk in the shop, you’ll find a huge counter of treats including fudge, chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream and sundaes.
Surrounding this island of goodies are aisles and aisles full of taffy, Jelly Bellies, candy apples and of course, more chocolate.
As magical as the front of the store is, I usually bypass it to visit my favorite part in the back where they keep the discounted goods. Here, you’ll find all of your favorite holiday treats, special flavors and blooper boxes — all at amazing clearance prices. This area is huge, and the options are endless. Get one from each holiday with a variety of singles — or stock up with a huge box. The choice is yours!
To boot, I’ve always had a good experience with customer service — a great representation of good ol’ fashioned southern hospitality.
Russell Stover is a nationally-recognized brand which began in 1923. Its headquarters is located in Kansas City. Russell Stover includes Whitman’s and Pangburn’s brands, and is part of the Lindt and Sprüngli family of companies. Russel Stover makes more than 250 different kinds of chocolates, including a large sugar-free variety — if you’re into that sort of thing.
I’ve been to plenty of candy shops in my lifetime — but none feel as sweet as this one. Next time you’re in the area, be sure to make a pit stop. You’ll be glad you did, and you can thank me later.
