As a result of the closure of many bars and restaurants in the area due to coronavirus concerns, I decided to use some of my isolation time to experiment with a few moonshine recipes in my own kitchen. Cause, what goes together better than isolation and moonshine?
I’ll tell ya what — coffee and moonshine. (Especially since drinking before noon became more socially acceptable last month.)
A quick disclaimer: This recipe is loosely based on some of Ole Smoky®’s official recipes, which can be found on their website or picked up in-store. The recipes I’m sharing were simplified according to either what I had around the house or what I could find in stores during the apocalypse.
This is another simple recipe and easy to make with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
Iced Coffee Moonshine Recipe:
- 6 oz coffee, cooled (add sugar prior to cooling, if desired)
- 2 oz Mountain Java moonshine
- Half ‘n half to taste
- Pour over ice
- Whipped cream to garnish
I like my coffee sweet, so I’m fairly liberal with the half and half and sugar. But I typically like a little coffee in my sugar and cream.
Or, drink it straight up. Ole Smoky® Mountain Java tastes great on its own as well.
