Since Governor Bill Lee’s Safer at Home order expired at the end of April, restaurants and retail businesses in Tennessee have been operating at a limited capacity. But what exactly does business as “unusual” look like at one of Sevierville’s most popular shopping destinations: Tanger Outlets?

Here’s what you should know before you plan your shopping day.

Tanger Outlets are currently operating at reduced hours from 11 am to 7 pm with the goal of resuming regular hours when the time is appropriate. While some stores have yet to reopen, others are practicing increased cleaning measures, encouraging social distancing whenever possible and enforcing limited occupancy within stores.

Select stores may also require facial coverings, so plan ahead accordingly. Shoppers may also pick up a mask at Shopper Services if needed.

As of last weekend, some stores that had not yet fully opened to the public, like Coach, were finding more creative ways of serving their customers by offering their own version of “curbside pickup,” allowing customers to “order” from the sidewalk.

It may also be important to note, especially for those with tiny bladders, tiny children or both, access to restrooms are also limited at this time. As of last weekend, only one was open to the public: The restrooms located nearest the Disney Store.

“None of us have experienced the world in this way. We are all in this together,” reads a message on the company’s website. “As we work together through the stages of uncertainty and recovery, we are here for you and want to welcome you back to happy outlet shopping!”
