So you’re in the mountains on New Year’s Eve. Now what? If you’ve procrastinated on making plans, you’re not alone. The good news is, there are plenty of events in the area to get you in the celebration spirit. (Spoiler alert – some of them are FREE!)
The Anakeesta New Year’s Eve celebration is free with admission ($21.99 online) and features special holiday cocktails, a $5 champagne toast for two and $7 appetizer specials. Guests can ride the Rail Runner Mountain Coaster for free from 7-11pm. Not to mention the fact that Anakeesta has one of the best views of the NYE Gatlinburg fireworks show in town.
The Country Tonite New Year’s Eve package includes reserved seating to the Country Tonite show, party favors, and a chance to win a special prize pack. The show begins at 10pm. At midnight there will be a balloon drop with sparkling cider. Tickets are $36.50 when you book online.
Gatlinburg (The Space Needle)
Ring in 2020 with the annual New Year’s Eve ball drop and fireworks show at the intersection of the Parkway and Historic Nature Trail at the base of the Space Needle. This event will feature special music choreographed to the fireworks, produced by Pyro-Shows, as well as LED light effects. This event is free and open to the public.
The Grand Majestic Theater in Pigeon Forge will be featuring a live viewing of the ball drop in New York City while guests enjoy dancing, bubbly and party favors. The show will feature special performances from the cast of Soul of Motown and America’s Hit Parade. The show begins at 8pm and tickets are available online for $67.89.
Hard Rock Cafe
The Hard Rock Cafe of Pigeon Forge will host a New Year’s Eve Bash. Tickets are $70 per couple, $40 per person or $50 per person at the door. Tickets include one adult beverage, a champagne toast and party favors. The Kincaid Band will play from 7-9pm and Dressed to Kill, a KISS tribute band, will play from 10pm-1am. Note: The website says this event is on Dec. 28, but it is, in fact, on New Year’s Eve.
Harpoon Harry’s Crab House
Kitty Wampus and Harpoon Harry’s will be ringing in 2020 with a buffet, a champagne toast and party favors. Tickets are $50 per person or $80 per couple. Tickets include a complimentary photo from Picture Perfect Photography. Guests must be 21 or older.
Island-goers are invited to celebrate with Margaritaville and the Patio Pirates at 8pm as they await for the The Island’s fireworks show. (See below for more details).
Ober Gatlinburg will ring in a new decade with live music by Kevin McGuire and The Band of the Smokies, a live DJ and a complimentary champagne toast. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are $65 per person and include a round trip Aerial Tramway ticket, appetizers, toast and souvenir glass.
Ole Red (pre-party)
Ole Red in Gatlinburg will ring in 2020 with a pre-party featuring live music from Cole Sitzlar (2-5pm) and Backwater Still (5-9pm). The event will feature signature drinks, champagne and more. Tickets are free.
Park Vista will be featuring live entertainment by The Griffins and Dancing starting at 9pm with a champagne toast at midnight. This event will have a great view of the City of Gatlinburg’s fireworks display from the pavilion and lawn area. Reservations are required and tickets are $75 per person.
The Brad Hudson Band will be playing at Puckett’s to ring in the New Year. The show starts at 10pm. There is no cover, but tips are appreciated for the band and reservations are accepted online.
SkyLift Park (viewing party) – SOLD OUT
SkyLift Park has one of the best views of the Gatlinburg fireworks show and ball drop. Guests can enjoy refreshments and avoid the crowds from the street while getting one of the best views of the city. Update: This event is sold out.
This New Year Celebration is one of the largest events The Island offers and features a lineup of entertainment including a free concert with headliner Tyler Rich. A fireworks show will kick off the New Year at midnight. Rich is known for his hits “The Difference” and “Leave Her Wild.”
