Every month, we select one special cabin rental in Sevier County as our “Featured Cabin of the Month.” Each cabin is hand selected because of its unique features, popularity and overall excellence in aesthetics.

And this month, we decided to go high tech.

When you think about renting a cabin in the Smokies, familiar images of incredible mountain views, logs and rustic wood details often come to mind. The Smoky Mountains have a way of making you want to unplug.

That is, until we found this very, um, plugged-in smart cabin.

This professionally designed smart cabin, now available on VRBO, has all the rustic appeal to fill your mountain lovin’ heart, while simultaneously allowing you to get your geek on.

This cabin doesn’t give its secrets away quickly.

When you first enter the cabin, the beauty and the scent of imported Scandinavian logs fill your senses, and the serene semi-secluded wooded setting welcomes you to the Smoky Mountains.

Despite the privacy that this particular location offers, it doesn’t skimp on convenience. It’s just a short 2.5 miles to the Parkway, and minutes away from Dollywood.

At first glance it has all the cabin staples you know and love: a pool table, a hot tub, deck rockers, a gas fireplace, a game loft, a pub table and a charcoal grill.

It’s only when you put your bags down, and begin to explore the cabin, that one begins to notice the subtle differences that set this cabin apart from all the rest.

There’s a 55″ flat screen 4k Smart HDTV equipped with cable and Netflix. A glass enclosed stone shower with a rainfall fixture. And, wait, is that … a built in sauna?

Davy Crockett eat your heart out.

That’s when something else catches your eye. Something you’ve likely never seen in a cabin like this before…

A fully integrated touchscreen smart panel.

That’s right, this home has what essentially equates to mini mission control.

A control panel that lets you control the lights, the temperature and even the alarm system throughout the entire cabin with just a simple graze of the finger.

Need some mood lighting before stepping into your custom sauna? No problem, you’ve got a smart panel.

Prefer to cool things off a bit before crawling under the covers, hey, let’s use the smart panel.

Need to keep your husband entertained and distracted for hours while you go outlet shopping at Tanger… well, you get the idea.

  1. When is the next availability for 3 nights for this smart cabin? What is the total including taxes and fees?

  2. Hi Penny, you can check the availability and pricing here. It is quite popular, there may be some spots in May and July open at the moment.
