Eagle-eyed Smokies fans have been noticing a bit of action at The Tower Shops at Mountain Mile this week as final touches are being added to the soon-to-be Downtown Flavortown by Guy Fieri.

The biggest update was the delivery and installation of the iconic Downtown Flavortown sign over the weekend.

This signals major progress for this highly anticipated project.

What is Downtown Flavortown?

Back in April of 2021, FACE Hospitality, a subsidiary of FACE Amusement Group, announced plans to open its flagship “Guy Fieri’s Downtown Flavortown”, a mixed-use restaurant and entertainment venue, in Pigeon Forge.

FACE Hospitality is the same group that recently launched Chicken Guy in downtown Gatlinburg earlier this year.

But Downtown Flavortown won’t just be another Guy Fieri themed restaurant.

This 43,000-square-foot attraction is being billed as an “entertainment center” featuring food, state-of-the-art arcade games, a 14-lane duckpin bowling ally, a full-service Tiki bar and a full-sized 1968 Chevy Camaro (for photo ops).

Think of it along the same line as Dave and Busters, but Guy Fieri themed.

“This is the perfect pairing of a chef-focused restaurant with a family entertainment center, and a natural extension of our relationship with Guy Fieri and his team,” said Bucky Mabe, CEO of FACE.

“Only the ultimate explorer of all-American flavor could mash-up this ridiculously exciting range of unexpected combinations that will be sure to turn a family night out into lifelong memories. ”

Support for this project was provided by John Morgan, entrepreneur and owner of WonderWorks.

Who is Guy Fieri?

Guy Fieri, for the uninitiated, is an American restaurateur, author and award-winning television presenter from the Food Network.

He coined the name “Flavortown” after an off-the-cuff comment about a pizza that looked like a manhole cover.

That one-liner took off and before he knew it, he had built an imaginary world in his own mind called “Flavortown”, frequently making jokes and references to the fictional land during his shows.

Eventually, he started referring to himself as “Mayor of Flavortown”.

The name would later become the inspiration for Flavortown Kitchen – a delivery-only restaurant concept with multiple locations across the United States and eventually, Downtown Flavortown in Pigeon Forge.

“No matter where you go in this great country, I can put ya on the road to Flavortown, real-deal food and good times, that’s what I’m all about. But there’s one experience that I’ve been saving for a special time and place.”

“I’m talking next level, go big or go home, the ultimate party. And I’m bringing the great people of Pigeon Forge with me … to Downtown Flavortown. Scratch-made food, craft cocktails, tiki bar, bowling, gaming … you name it, we’re bringing it!” said Guy Fieri in a press release.

  1. We live here and are excited to see Flavortown getting ready to open! Have family who live 5 hours away also watching for opening! They will be here in the spry, ready to visit!

  2. Looking forward to the new restaurant and game center. We love the Pigeon Forge area!!!
This will be a great asset to the town.

  3. We will be visiting this establishment ASAP. Our next trip is the last week of December 2021 thru the fist week of January 2022. I know our 6 year old will love the arcade.

  4. Hope it’s better than Chicken Guy in Gatlinburg. Good has been inconsistent and average (at best).

  5. Ohio here and can’t wait to come down and get one his burgers. I had one at Cancun airport while waiting on our flight to come home and it was the best juiciest burger I’ve ever had. Please build one in Columbus Ohio it is his hometown.

  6. Finally!! A bowling alley that stays open late and sells alcohol! Been waiting since 2010 so I’m sure this will be the new local Hangout.
