Are you planning to be in Gatlinburg on New Year’s Eve? Well, get ready to say goodbye to 2023 and ring in 2024 in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas. There are plenty of events in the Smokies to get you in the celebration spirit. And best of all, some of them are free. So if you’re ready to get out of your cabin and enjoy a night out, here are the best places to be in Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas for New Year’s Eve.

1. Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar (Gatlinburg)
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in festive Gatlinburg at the new Rooftop Bar. Each ticket ($50 limited release) includes full access to the rooftop and live bands starting at 6 pm. This event is for ages 21 and over. No refunds will be offered. Visit this website to purchase tickets in advance. The venue is located at 644 Parkway in Gatlinburg, TN.
2. Pinchy’s Lobster and Beer (Sevierville)
Enjoy a mouth-watering all-you-can-eat seafood buffet along with live music and drinks at Pinchy’s in Sevierville for $101.57 per person. Purchase your tickets in advance, as this event is sure to sell out quickly. Pinchy’s is located at 212 Court Avenue in Sevierville, TN.
3. Camp Riverslanding (Pigeon Forge)
Guests staying at Camp Riverslanding RV resort can celebrate New Year’s Eve in style with live music, finger foods and football to watch on large screen TVs. Visit the website for more information. Events are free with a paid weekend stay. Camp Riverslanding is located at 304 Day Springs Rd in Pigeon Forge.
4. Dick’s Last Resort (Gatlinburg)
For this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration, Dick’s Last Resort in Gatlinburg is offering an extensive menu, free insults and a midnight champagne toast (for guests 21 and up). 5. Harpoon Harry’s Crab House (Pigeon Forge)
Harpoon Harry’s is taking reservations for its New Year’s Eve celebration. Watch the Facebook page for announcements for this event. Harpoon Harry’s is located at 112 Community Center Drive in Pigeon Forge, TN.
6. Wilderness at the Smokies (Sevierville)
Ring in 2024 at Wilderness at the Smokies. Scheduled events include Monty’s Mini New Year’s Eve Bash for children under 11. Following Monty’s event is Camp Social’s New Year’s Eve Buffet from 2 to 8 pm. And last but not least is the New Year’s Eve party which begins at 9 pm. A DJ will be on hand from 10 pm until 1 am. 7. Hard Rock Cafe (Pigeon Forge)
The New Year’s Eve party at the Hard Rock Cafe will feature live music by Whisky Business from 8:30 pm to midnight. There will be a countdown and a toast at midnight. Hard Rock Cafe is located at 2050 Parkway in Pigeon Forge, TN.
8. Anakeesta (Gatlinburg)
Anakeesta is open until midnight on New Year’s Eve and knows how to put on a memorable celebration with lights, live music and a great view of the downtown Gatlinburg fireworks display. Anakeesta’s celebration is included with the price of general admission. The perfect place to watch live entertainment and the city’s fireworks will be from the deck of the Smokehouse restaurant in Firefly Village. For more information, visit their website. 9. Ole Red (Gatlinburg)
Ole Red in Gatlinburg will be featuring live music throughout the day until midnight on Dec. 31. This year’s lineup of talented singers includes Justin Mychals, Lexi Lew and playing at midnight will be Tyson Leamon. For more information, visit the Ole Red website. 10. The Pines (Sevierville)
Ring in the New Year with a bang at The Pines Downtown in Historic Downtown Sevierville! This New Year’s Eve Party will no doubt be an evening of celebration and fun. A DJ will provide the music. The event starts at 8 pm and continues until 1 am on New Year’s Day. At midnight, look forward to a champagne toast and balloon drop. The Pines is located at 230 Court Ave in Sevierville.
11. SkyPark (Gatlinburg)
SkyPark in Gatlinburg is traditionally a popular viewing spot to see the city’s fireworks. The Lights of Wonder event allows guests to watch the Gatlinburg fireworks and the ball drop from the best view in town. The park is best known for its iconic SkyBridge, the longest pedestrian bridge in North America. Guests can also enjoy a scenic walk along the SkyTrail, grab snacks and beverages at the SkyCenter and soak in the views from the SkyDeck.
This year for the first time, the SkyDeck will transform into a huge dance floor where you and your friends can ring in the new year. 12. The Island (Pigeon Forge)
The Island is once again hosting its popular and free New Year’s Eve concert featuring headliner, Stephen Goff and The Royals! The Island’s New Year’s Eve Celebration will also include midnight fireworks with the soundtrack simulcast on Knoxville radio station WIVK 107.7. Of course, The Island will also be open New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to midnight. So, eat, shop and stay for the finale. For more information and updates, visit their website. 13. City of Gatlinburg’s New Year’s Eve Ball Drop
Gatlinburg’s New Year’s Eve Ball Drop is the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in town. Each year, guests gather around the base of the Space Needle to watch the ball drop and a midnight fireworks show. But if you plan to attend this popular event, be sure to get there early to secure a parking spot. Or better yet, make reservations now to stay nearby. The iconic tower is located at 120 Historic Nature Trail.
