Snow Tubing Opening Weekend

Snow Tubing at Ober Gatlinburg is such a fun way to spend a winter day! Each 90 minute session allows guests to slide down the hill as many times as possible in that timeframe. The “Magic Carpet” (outdoor escalator) takes you back to the top of the hill following each run … no hill climbing involved.

It is important to schedule your time to allow for delays to prevent missing your scheduled tubing session as no refunds or exchanges are allowed. Tickets are non-transferable and not for resale. Children 2 and under may not ride. Starting first day of tubing, Nov. 21, 2020, snow tubing tickets (for any available snow tubing session) can be purchased Downtown at the Tramway Mall “Will Call” booth or at the Snow Tubing ticket office on the mountain, as well as online. Christmas in the Village

Come celebrate the holiday season with your family at the Heritage Center’s “Christmas in the Village” on select Saturdays this season. Enjoy the warmth of the holidays while going back in time to a pioneer celebration.

Living history interpreters will guide you through the historic Appalachian village full of handcrafting demonstrations, lights and decorations. Heritage Center Member Day is Saturday, Nov. 28, when members may enjoy free admission. On all other dates, full admission is required. Tours begin at 5 pm with the last tour starting at 8 pm. 11th Annual Holiday Homecoming

Come and (safely!) celebrate harvest, home, and the holidays with live music throughout the day, kids’ crafts, Santa, and more at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center.

There will be activities for the young ones and also, grab a goodie bag full of craft supplies to make your own old- fashioned Christmas tree ornaments. Santa Claus visits will be available from a safe distance!

Live music in the amphitheater and porch will be provided by local musicians.

Grand Majestic Presents Starlight Drive-In

Cruise in to the drive-in and get ready for a night of amazing performances, featuring music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. There are two options for tickets – dinner and show or show only.

Dinner options are a choice of “Drive-In Cheeseburger”, “Love Me Tenders” chicken or “Movie Night Pork BBQ Sandwich”, all served with fries, choice of soda and a cookie. WonderWorks Pigeon Forge National STEM Day Exhibits

Nov. 8 is National STEM Day. This annual celebration of STEM, which is the acronym for science, technology, engineering and math, draws attention to STEM and the importance of STEM education.

Wonderworks Pigeon Forge will use this day to launch a new exhibit on STEM careers, highlighting specific STEM jobs and will include career information, videos, demos and more. According to the Pew Research Center, STEM-related careers have grown 79% since 1990, going from 9.7 million jobs to 17.3 million. Pew also reports that those in STEM careers earn a higher salary.

WonderWorks offers a new STEM careers exhibit to highlight the fact that STEM careers are growing exponentially, far more than the number of people studying these diverse fields. More than 30% of Americans say they would encourage high school students to pursue jobs in STEM-related fields. Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas Sevier County Days

Dolly invites everyone who lives and works in Sevier County to Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas (Nov. 8-20, 2020 excluding Saturday, Nov. 14) for a $5 donation! Proceeds benefit Sevier County Food Ministries.

A state or federal-issued photo identification and verification of residence or employment is required to take advantage of the discount. Entrance will be given as park capacity allows.

To guarantee entry into the park, Sevier County residents (or workers) can reserve their tickets online by visiting the website. After purchasing online, guests must show proof of residency or employment at the Dollywood ticket booth to pick up their tickets.

Alcatraz East Celebrates National STEM Day

Nov. 8 is National STEM Day, which spotlights the vital subject areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Back in Blue Rail Jam

Check out Ober Gatlinburg’s annual Back In Blue rail jam! Participants can dust off their snowboards and skis and jam on rails, boxes and jumps. The snow in the Tubing Park will be ready to rock for one night only, and snow tubing will begin the following morning.

You don’t have to participate in the rail jam to enjoy this event, there will be also be fabulous prizes, great music and interesting vendors set up to make it just as much fun for spectators.

The rail jam is open to both skiers and snowboarders. Rail jam participant in person registration begins at 3 pm or register early online. The fee includes entry into the Ober Gatlinburg Freestyle Terrain (OGFT) Rail Jam, event t-shirt, and a raffle ticket (including a GoPro Camera and several other great prizes). Those under 18 must submit an additional hard copy waiver signed by a guardian.

The Polar Express Train Ride

The Townsend Grains & Grits Festival is a festival of southern spirits and gourmet grub, providing an intimate sampling event with something for consumers, foodies, bartenders and spirit professionals alike.

New for 2020, Michael Sullivan aka “The Reverend of Fat” is excited to bring “The Ring of Fire” to this year’s Grains and Grits Festival. Sullivan is heading up the culinary aspect of the event.

Five chefs will encircle a large fire pit where a whole pig, lamb, chickens and sausages will be roasted and served. From November 2-8, locals in Sevier, Cocke, Knox, Jefferson, Blount, and Hamblen Counties who present a valid ID, or a current paystub showing proof of employment in Sevier County, will get admission to SkyLift Park for just $5 a ticket.

WonderWorks Sensory Days for Children and Adults with Special Needs

WonderWorks is hosting Sensory Days! The exhibits will be altered to provide limited stimulation for those with special needs.

The music in the facility is lowered, any loud exhibit is not operational and the inversion tunnel is halted, creating a safe environment to enjoy the facility without feeling overwhelmed. Parents, caretakers, family and children can come to WonderWorks for $10 per person during this event. Visit the area as it transforms into a winter wonderland during Winterfest! Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville and the rest of the Smoky Mountains will shine as five million lights glow in celebration of the season.

Smoky Mountain Winterfest turns Pigeon Forge shows and theaters into a special, seasonal experience. Dates are subject to change.

This festive tradition, presented by Humana, has been voted the best in America for over a decade, and is even better this season!

Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff

Gatlinburg celebrates the fall season with one of its best foodie experiences, the Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff Presented by Bush’s® Chili Beans! Festival-goers enjoy chili samplings from the area’s top restaurants, live musical performances, activities and much more with their ticket purchase to this family-friendly event.

Near the festival’s end, chili vendors battle it out for the coveted People’s Choice, Best Booth Presentation and other categorical awards.

Skybridge Lit at Night

Skybridge – Lights Over Gatlinburg

The holidays are a special time in Gatlinburg, and there’s no better place to experience the magic than the SkyLift when the park becomes a celebration of the holidays through the end of January as thousands of twinkling lights cover the SkyDeck.
