Friends of the Smokies Annual Cades Cove Loop Lope Registration
The Cades Cove Loop Lope is the only organized footrace held inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park to benefit Friends of the Smokies. All funds raised benefit park projects and programs such as historic preservation, wildlife conservation, native plant and grassland restoration and much more. Registration is happening now. There are two course options, a 5K or a USATF Certified 10-Mile Loop. If you miss registration or the event is sold out, sign up for the Virtual Race. A virtual race can be run (or walked!) anytime, anywhere, even indoors or on a treadmill. For details and how to register, visit the website.

Country fans already know this place gets its name from superstar Blake Shelton’s breakout hit, “Ol’ Red”, and Blake knows a thing or two about spotting country’s next rising stars. The Great Smoky Mountain Balloon Festival
Spend some time viewing this summertime spectacle, when several professional balloonist light up the evening sky with a beautiful balloon glow. The sky will be filled with a spectrum of color like never before, against a backdrop of a breathtaking Tennessee sunset. This is a major annual event hosted by the Smoky Mountain Jeep® Club. This event is currently held at the LeConte Center and is open to ALL Jeep® enthusiasts and Jeep® clubs throughout the nation. It is an Expo for all the leading Jeep® parts and accessory vendors, and the smaller vendors who deal in Jeep® related products. The event also hosts a Jeep® Show where several trophies are awarded.
