WonderWorks Smoky Mountain Youth Art Contest Display

WonderWorks Pigeon Forge has announced its youth art contest winners and the Smoky Mountain Youth Art Gallery, located inside WonderWorks Pigeon Forge. WonderWorks will display the winning pieces for a year.

Winter Heritage Festival

Bring the entire family to the Heritage Center’s Winter Heritage Festival on Jan. 23, 2021. Watch live demonstrations of open hearth cooking, storytelling, spinning and blacksmithing. Save Our Smokies Trash Pick-up Event

Join the Save Our Smokies trash pick-up along Laurel Creek Road, Tremont and Upper Tremont Road and Cades Cove Loop Road on Jan. 30. The assigned area may be expanded if there is a large workforce to assist. Group assignments and paperwork completion will be held in the parking area at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend. The Center has graciously allowed usage of their parking lot from 8-9 am. Visit the Facebook page for more information, updates, and a link to the online forms.

Elvis’s Ultimate Birthday Bash

Visit the Grand Majestic Theater for Elvis’s Ultimate Birthday Bash with a tribute to the King of rock and roll. Music will be featured from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, which will cover everything from oldies, country, classic rock and gospel. The shows are headlined by award winning artists Michael Chambliss, Matt Cordell, Austin Irby and Travis Powell. Call the box office or visit the website to purchase tickets.

Curious Campout Family Sleepover

This event is geared toward ages 2-6, however older children are welcome to attend. The program includes a modified schedule with activities and snacks, and an earlier bedtime, all within the Curious Creatures Gallery. Visit the website to make reservations.

Ripley’s hosts several sensory-friendly events and nights throughout the year which offer lowered lighting and music throughout the facility. Quiet spaces are also offered for those who may need a break during their visit. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is a Certified Autism Center. Visit the website for details.

Ober Rocks (Cancelled)

CANCELLED: Join Ober Gatlinburg for the 4th annual Ober Rocks throwback event on Jan. 23, 2021. Ober Gatlinburg will host a special Ober Rocks Ski Session from 8 pm-midnight. Josiah & The Greater Good will play inside on the big stage and a slope side DJ will blast music on the slopes until midnight. In case of inclement weather, the event will move indoors. Light the Way Fundraiser

Editor’s Note: The 2020 Light The Way 5K originally scheduled for November and rescheduled for January 3 now has been cancelled, but event organizers plan for it to return in winter 2021. Even though this event has been cancelled, a plan has been announced to offer a different experience that allows people to visit Dollywood on Jan. 3 to see the holiday lights and support the two great non-profit organizations that benefit from Light the Way: Keep Sevier Beautiful and Share It Forward.

Free Music at Ole Red Gatlinburg

Here, at the only live music spot in Gatlinburg with hand-picked talent from Nashville, you never know who will take the stage every Friday and Saturday night! January will include Matt Stillwell, Cole Sitzar, Jordan Foster, Aaron Walker Band, Brad Hudson, Zach Ray, Blake Esse, Shaun Abbott, Elijah Wise, Larry Frick, The Dugger Band, JD Shelbourne, Alicia Harvey, Chris Rains, Stephen Goff, Chloe Litton and Garrett Spear. Puckett’s is a restaurant and music venue that embodies true Tennessee culture through its signature comfort food and talented area artists and musicians. Shadrack’s Christmas Lights Show

Shadrack’s is a drive-through light show, taking place from dusk until 10 pm nightly at the Smokies Stadium. Additional attractions are available, including photos with Santa, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables and food vendors.
