Sevierville, located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains next to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, is the birthplace of our beloved Dolly Parton and the eighth oldest town in Tennessee (founded in 1795).
While the town itself is steeped in history, today, it has Dolly’s stamp all over it – from her statue at the courthouse to the many attractions that bear her name like “Dolly Parton’s Stampede.”
Sevierville features hundreds of attractions, dining and entertainment options – everything from helicopter tours to go-karts to the “Forbidden Caverns” (once used by moonshiners during prohibition). You could spend a month in this town and still not see and do everything this city has to offer.
Sevierville is also home to dozens of outlet malls including the largest outlet mall in the area – Tanger Outlets – which features over 100 unique shops and restaurants (a bargain hunter’s paradise!)
And don’t forget to check out the Parkway during Winterfest, when Sevierville and its two sister cities (Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg) join together to create a driving tour light celebration unlike you’ve ever seen – featuring over 15 million lights in s 25-mile stretch.
