The Apple Barn is a popular, iconic destination in Sevierville, Tenn. that features shops, a winery and the very popular Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and Farmhouse Grill.
If you love sweet, specialty wines, apple butter, apple pies, apple fritters, apple cider, and heck, anything apple-flavored, you should definitely schedule a trip to the Apple Barn.
There’s not necessarily a bad time to visit the Apple Barn, but fall can be a particularly popular season to enjoy the crisp apples and beautiful fall foliage. Here are four reasons the Apple Barn can be even more enjoyable in the fall:
4. Start your Christmas shopping at the Apple Barn
Apple soap? Apple cider? Apple pancake mix?
Check, check and check.
Fall is the perfect season to start your Christmas shopping. It’s not so early that your family will give you the stink eye for being an overachiever, but it’s not so late that it will cause you to go into a holiday panic on Christmas Eve.
It’s easy to find unique gifts that have mass appeal at the Apple Barn. But be warned: You’ll want to buy two of everything when you shop here so you can keep one for yourself.
If you can’t make it in person, you can also shop online.
3. Enjoy perfectly set up photo ops
Tennessee is beautiful in the fall, and the Apple Barn takes advantage of its naturally gorgeous landscape with decorations throughout the property.
You can use the seasonal decor to take the perfect instagram-worthy family photos. Best of all, there’s no admission fee, so it’s easy to visit and go exploring.
2. Enjoy wine and cider tastings
The Apple Barn is a great place to enjoy apple cider, but they also have an on-site winery.
The Apple Barn Winery features seasonal flavors, and fall is a great time to catch favorites such as Apple Cranberry or Apple Peach. Your guide will make recommendations based on your preferences, but they have everything from dry to semi-sweet and sweet wines.
The wine tastings are free, but remember to tip your server.
1. It’s the best place to get a candy apple
I guess it’s no sin to eat a candy apple anytime of the year, but for some reason, fall and candy apples go together like tinsel and Christmas trees.
So if you’re going to spruce up an apple this year with some crushed nuts, chocolates or red candy mixtures, you should do so at one of the state’s finest places to get an apple.
